Submerged Mertensi

It was difficult to keep track, and even catch these Merten's Water Monitor's (Varanus mertensi). If you got too close, they would take off straight for the water. Then every once in awhile they would pop up near the shore, and once you think ur close enough to pounce on them, they just go back under and disappear for another few minutes.
